This role is for an energized leader that will convey the company’s values of collaboration through cross-functional teams including Design, Production, Merchandising, Sales and Planning.

The designer will lead the brand storytelling through the lens of our active apparel collections, including Le Ore, WSLY, All Access and Bandier. The designer will take key influences from the market, will stay ahead of trend, and build key franchises focused on excellent fabrics & fit.

Reports To: Creative Director

Direct Reports: Designer, Associate Designer


  • Collaborate with Creative Director for inspiration and all approvals to adhere to all design goals.
  • Research current fashion trends, determine what is most appropriate for our consumers and apply these trends to the collection.
  • Lead design team in developing ideas for new products, franchises and outfitting concepts.
  • Able to develop collections working closely with PD, merchandising, planning and other cross-functional teams.
  • Testing and deciding on fabrics, colors, patterns and textures for each design, working closely with tech design and sourcing.
  • Overseeing the production of designs, including carrying out fittings, executing against overall and component cost targets, utilizing key selling data and aligning to overall merchandise plan
  • Maintaining relationships with vendors, suppliers and fit models.
  • Adhere to Product Development Calendar, closely aligning with merchandise strategy to bring the right product in at the right time.
  • Maintain and track seasonal development costs and ensure they are within budget.
  • Create mood board, fabric board and research.
  • Working in conjunction with marketing department and researching photographer,


  • 8+ years design experience, specifically a background in active
  • Strong general management and leadership skills; ability to grow and manage a team and work well cross-functionally
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritize and oversee multiple projects at once
  • Successful track-record in building a line and storytelling, working closely with merchandising, adhering to and owning calendar milestones
  • Strong taste level, a leader in what is on trend and exciting in the space
  • Ability to present ideas and products in a simple and clear manner (to both partners and leadership)
  • Strong understanding of consumer mindset, consumer empathy and a dedication to creating great consumer experiences
  • Takes ownership, problem solves and demonstrates a high level of accountability
  • Hybrid Work, commutable to NYC preferred
