Purpose

Supporting the Visual Excellence team, this position will lead training and coaching of our adidas DTC (Direct to Consumer) Fleet within all levels of the organization to meet or exceed DTC NAM visual merchandising standards. This position supports the entire Visual Excellence team by implementing Global and Local visual and product training tools to drive a premium presentation in our NAM stores and to create engagement and product knowledge with our store teams. This role partners with both the retail back-office training team as well as the fleet retail training team to adapt content, build training calendars and create strategy for training teams.

Key Accountabilities

  • Continually exhibit a fresh and creative training perspective that will position the NAM Visual Excellence team among the best in retail
  • Utilize the Third Channel reporting tool to submit training requests, track training requests, create training recaps and review store reports to ensure executional excellence at retail. In partnership with the Area Visual Manager (AVM), provide feedback to the stores.
  • Plan and adapt trainings and programs using the tools provided in the Global Training Certification Program
  • Partner with District Managers, Store Managers and Retail Trainers to create a strong visual merchandising knowledge foundation by creating, planning, and facilitating VM training curriculum for new or newly promoted team members including Store Leaders, VM Leads, Retail Back Office Teams, and Global Partners
  • Facilitate visual merchandising onboarding training for new and promoted team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as NAM Visual Merchandising and Retail Trainers to gather content, plan and deliver visual merchandising tools and training to drive key business and brand priorities such as campaigns, product launches and brand initiatives.
  • Build and deliver trainings that establish and reinforce VM as a profit center.
  • Deliver brand / product knowledge trainings to improve sell-through of adidas footwear, apparel, and accessories through visual merchandising excellence and help to drive store level Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Support the training and upskilling for New Store / Store Remodel teams in partnership with District Managers, Area Visual Managers, Store Managers and Retail Trainers
  • Support the ongoing training, onboarding, and upskilling for Visual Merchandising, Retail Back Office and ThirdChannel team members.
  • Visit stores to identify training gaps; partner with Visual Excellence Area Managers and District Managers to develop targeted training plans by store. Execute upskilling training focused on closing these identified training gaps.
  • Execute ongoing visual merchandising curriculum and upskilling in partnership with the Retail Training team, ensuring a unified message
  • Participate both in-person and virtually on visual creative projects including, but not limited to meetings, conferences, and store openings

Knowledge Skills And Abilities

  • Strong understanding of Visual Merchandising and a visual eye that incorporates the brand aesthetic and strategies
  • Proven passion for visual merchandising
  • Knowledge of retail landscape, training methods, visual merchandising, product presentation, retail marketing and presentation
  • Strong project management and planning skills. Highly organized with demonstrated follow through capabilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of profit and loss statement and store KPIs to make commercial decisions based on sound financial judgment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to lead discussions in diverse groups of varying size
  • Ability to think conceptually, in strategic terms and diagnose and translate sales/category reporting to an in-store training strategy
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and processes
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates an inspirational attitude that contributes to a positive team environment with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve established objectives
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members at all levels of the business
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to travel: Estimated up to 60% depending on area of responsibility
  • Excellent MS Office skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Education/Training or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant Retail, Marketing and/or Product Training experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-2 years of in-store visual merchandising leadership experience required, preferably in a multi-store capacity
  • Candidate must be located in Texas or Florida
