As our Apparel designer 2, Sustainable Product in GSA, you’ll create the future of sports performance through innovative aesthetic execution and with a solution-oriented sustainability focus. Bringing to life the seasonal category creative direction through advanced apparel design with solutions that are fueled by athlete/consumer Insights and a considered environmentally friendly approach. The candidate needs to have a passion for Sustainability, Innovation, performance apparel & sport. Deep knowledge of 2D & 3D digital tools, including CLO or a similar program. You’ll need strong communication skills with teammates across the organization, including expert listening, collaborative problem solving & deep emotional intelligence. The role demands big picture thinking, with regards to product relevance, product positioning, timing & collections. We’re looking for a candidate who’s curious, inquisitive, and motivated to discover new sustainable design processes and methods of make. You’ll need to consistently demonstrate process proficiency through best practices, visualization and communication of ideas.


If this is you, you’ll be working with Design Directors & Senior Design Innovators to create original Sustainable product designs and concepts or refresh existing products reflecting Nikes Move to Zero design philosophy. You’ll execute all product details including construction detail, form, style, fit, performance, trims, etc. You’ll need to communicate across functions such as Design, Development and Product management. At times you will present internally and externally, with mentorship from Senior designers. Producing presentation materials that optimally communicate the concept behind the line and the intended Sustainable value proposition. This role will require you to build awareness of current sustainability and consumer trends, color, and sports-related products through market research to stay ahead of consumer needs and expectations. Daily/weekly support for the design team, as needed, outside of assigned product workload.


This designer will report into a Senior Design Innovator and will collaborate closely with Tech design, Product management & multiple design and Sustainable product teams. The role will have no direct reports.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Design and 1-5 years' equivalent combination of education and experience and training
  • Ability to apply and perform design skills such as: drawing/sketching, ideation, digital product creation and visual presentation development.
  • Familiarity with current Sustainability and consumer trends, color and design.
  • Basic understanding of pattern making, draping, materials, trims, garment fit, garment construction, and manufacturing
  • Basic knowledge of the apparel industry, circular product creation, marketing principles, and development process
  • Driven to create meaningful performance led innovation and willingness to adapt through a continuous learning mindset.
