Lead creative development, in partnership with Strategy, for marketing, advertising and promotional campaigns and set creative tone for Designers to follow from initial concept through hand off to production.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT

  • Creative lead to direct creative team throughout the creative process
  • Leads and participates in creative brainstorms
  • Interprets strategy and sets creative tone that delivers on business objectives and strategy
  • Collaborates with photo and key partners with copy in creative execution
  • Responsible for delivering presentations with input from Designers

CREATIVE MANAGEMENT

  • Ensures that creative presentation (boards/in store) are prepared and presents creative to Manager
  • Reviews all stages of project with Manager
  • Mentors creative team, freelancers and interns
  • Works with Project Coordinators to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of tool kits
  • Sets creative vision and guides Designers throughout project
  • Manages ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

ADDENDUMS

ART DIRECTOR - CONCEPT

  • Creates high level concepts in an agile work environment
  • Develops and communicates visual designs, motion ideas, concepts and storyboards
  • Works with the use of swipe and reference photos to convey creative direction

ART DIRECTOR - CONCEPT AND DESIGN

  • Focused on specific project for identified customer segment
  • Works with the use of photography and swipe
  • Final deliverables includes Kohl’s created content

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • BFA or equivalent degree required
  • 4-5 years experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required
  • Software requirements: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat
  • Must be a strategic and conceptual thinker with the ability to ideate and execute creative for multiple print mediums
  • Must have experience multi-tasking and working on various levels of creative and multiple brands in a very fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional organization, time management and multi-tasking skills required
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills required
  • Strong presentation skills required

PREFERRED

  • Experience with managing creative projects from concept to production
  • Experience with retail workflow, processes, and structure
  • Advanced knowledge of four-color, spot, and digital printing processes and prepress requirements
