Art Director.

How Do You Fit In?

As the Art Director at YITTY, you will partner with the design, copy, photography, styling and other internal teams to elevate the brand experience and ultimately drive consumer engagement and loyalty through strategy development, seamlessly translating the seasonal stories of the brand throughout the print and digital space. More specifically, this role is responsible for the creative development of campaign, editorial and e-commerce concepts under the creative director's leadership, as well as marketing/branding initiatives, packaging, logos, and original and compelling designs for social and acquisition assets, in addition to other departmental needs. This role will oversee the maintenance and development of the brand and design standards.

The Art Director is also responsible for managing the graphic design team and creative interns, if/when applicable. This position collaborates with key internal stakeholders across Marketing, PR, Social media, Acquisition and Merchandising to build brand visuals across all channels with accuracy and consistency.

This position will report toHead of Creative.

What you will do:

  • Work closely with Head of Creative on conceptualizing, development, and execution on design strategy and art direction for all digital marketing, including but not limited to emails, social media, website, digital ads, print media, and packaging.
  • Support Head of Creative on seasonal campaign creative strategy and art direction, this research and presentation of concept and location swipe and set design.
  • Art direct as needed on all photo shoots, working closely with the photographer, stylist, crew, producer and models in proper execution of shoot concept
  • See concept through to execution by developing final layouts and color, overseeing the retouching process and reviewing all mechanicals
  • Layout, design and manage creative process for all digital & print marketing materials including lookbooks, elevated pages, editorial content, newsletters, promotions, site assets, direct mail/catalogs, logos, invitations, in store signage, packaging and other promotional materials
  • Oversee team of graphic designers to ensure all creative is aligned and communicates a consistent brand message, while also delivering the target revenue/ROI
  • Partner with copy to deliver compelling campaigns that align with our brand voice both visually and through copy
  • Work with Head of Creative on retouching rounds, direct and markup imagery as needed for social, Web and acquisitions assets
  • Partner closely with Project Manager to assign projects across the graphic design team
  • Assist in layout for all media based on final concept approval, cataloging of images, maintaining complete edited files of all images from photo shoot
  • Stay on top of trends in the design, typography, photography, health and active wear world
  • Produce, optimize, and output final web-ready digital artwork in support of site updates
  • Maintain a keen sense of UX as well as familiarity with back end site functionality and development
What you can bring:

  • 6+ years of work experience as an Associate/ Jr. Art Director in an agency, studio, production company, fashion brand or retail company
  • Must have strong presentation skills, workflow management and communication skills
  • Must maintain a full understanding of the creative, photographic and digital processes as they relate to photo shoot and video production
  • Candidate should have the ability to think conceptually and design aesthetically, translating creative direction into visual references
  • Must have prior experience with photo shoots
  • Must have expert knowledge of typography and graphic design principles
  • Must have experience managing a graphic design team
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks with a quick turnaround time, demonstrating strong workflow management and communication skills as well as proven success collaborating with multi-functional teams
  • Professional attitude; self managed, self motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player with a keen sense of urgency
  • Must be expert in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop;
  • Passion for fashion industry and knowledge of social trends is required
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices for both web and pre-press print execution is a plus; working understanding of both digital and print advertising in all facets and stages of development
  • Online user interface experience, including mobile
  • Must have strong POV and knowledge of creative talent, agencies, fashion brands and other designers
  • Must work collaboratively and constructively on each project with others on the team including Project Managers, Marketing, Merchants, other Creative Team members, etc.
  • Candidate will have a portfolio that demonstrates inventive/imaginative digital campaigns
  • Candidate must possess knowledge of interactive and user-centered experience design
  • Possess flexibility to adapt and thrive in a rapidly evolving, fast paced environment as well as willingness to get the job done
  • Fashion experience is a plus
Additional Skills:

  • Must be able to manage multiple complex projects on time and on budget
  • Must be diligent with regard to obtaining approvals
  • Should maintain knowledge of post production and retouching processes
  • Must have ability to self manage projects and work within established deadlines
  • Should have knowledge of digital post production as well as printing processes
  • Must be team oriented, self motivated, and an exceptional communicator
  • Must have a desire to learn and an extremely strong sense of urgency and responsibility
  • Must be skilled at working in an extremely fast paced environment
Education Requirements


  • Must have a 4 year degree in the field of Advertising/Marketing, Arts, Fashion, Design, Photography and/or equivalent professional experience
