Assistant Apparel Designer

Westmoor Mfg. Co. is seeking a full-time Assistant Apparel Designer fresh out of college.

This is an entry-level position, and located in Fort Worth, TX.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

• Fabric development – Prints, yarn-dyes, knits, and wovens, Creating fabric request boards for factories

• Evaluating handlooms, strike-offs, and lab dips from factories

• Communicating with factories over sample fabric, construction, and garment fit

• Tracking receipt of samples and sample lines

• Creating technical sketches for garments

• Creating tech packs using PLM

• Preparing samples for photo shoots and line release Photoshoots

• Organizing sample lines

• Assist with presentation of the line to salesforce during quarterly line release meetings

• Participate in sample fittings

• Maintaining workflow for current season in development and previous seasons in mass production

Requirements:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design/related field

• Entry level or 1+years of experience

• Previous experience in apparel preferred but not required

• Knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabric and color

• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and MS Office Experience with PLM a plus

• Eagerness to learn

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently

• Strong organization skills and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently

• Portfolio required
