FUN.com is looking for somebody with a fantastic imagination to design and create all sorts of costumes for people of every age, shape, and style. FUN.com is home to Halloweencostumes.com and creates costumes inspired by anything and everything! From traditional costumes, to pop-culture influenced, to costumes based on licensed properties. You will work closely with our Product Design and Development teams. The ideal candidate will be skilled in sketching and will create technical drawings for designs created by our apparel design team. This role also includes selecting fabrics for potential designs, and prepping spec sheets. If you can sketch, have a ton of imagination, passion for fashion and a love of Halloween, we want to hear from you.

Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Create tech flats and select fabrics for new designs
  • Meet with developers to discuss project specifications and construction direction of a project
  • Meet with designers to discuss project feasibility and roadblocks
  • Submit print requests to the graphic design team
  • Communicate roadblocks to leadership to help keep projects on track
  • Take direction and creative criticism to refine designs by incorporating outside feedback
  • Follow and research current fashion trends
  • Anticipate future fashion trends to incorporate into costume designs
  • Suggest pattern and construction options for use in designed costumes
  • Monitor price point as costume gets designed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Costume Design, Fashion Design, or similar emphasis
  • Phenomenal hand-drawn sketching skills
  • Experience working in both Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Knowledge of tech packs and technical drawings
  • Creativity, imagination and problem solving skills
  • Fantastic eye for minute details
  • Great oral and verbal communication skills
  • Exhibit company core values and culture
  • Experience designing products in costume, apparel and or/softlines industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sewing and pattern making capabilities
  • Previous experience designing licensed consumer goods
  • Previous experience designing apparel for a broad consumer market
