Assistant Associate Designer

A Los Angeles-based Apparel Company is looking for an Assistant Associate Designer for their Woven Dresses division. Main job duties to assist the Senior Designer in all aspects of creating a line for the quarterly collection. Provides support in both creative, practical, and technical aspects of the design process. The ideal candidate must be hardworking, detail-oriented, organized, a team player, and work well in a fast-paced environment with a fun positive attitude.

What you will do:

  • Ensure execution of all samples for collections and sales meetings.
  • Working with CAD/3D artists, pattern makers, and sales reps to service all store accounts and address special projects.
  • Compiling pre-costing information as needed for pre-production tech packs.
  • Manage fabric inventory and library.
  • Responsible for maintaining all line sheets, fabric, and cutting ticket books.
  • Manage send-outs writing Pos, following up on orders sent out to vendors.
  • Compile and pass all standards/qualities to Product Development Techs for order hand-off meetings.
  • Proficient in sketching
  • Photo/tagging line
  • Assist in passing styles for costing - based on staffing in dept.
  • Create/Generate tech packs for overseas development.
  • Assist with follow-up on OD styles.
  • All other duties may be assigned by your immediate manager.

What we are looking for:

- Must have 3-5 years of experience in the garment industry

- Proficient in sketching

- Computer experience with knowledge of Photoshop, CAD, Illustrator, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Excel

- Knowledge of Tech Packs

- Must have excellent time management and organization skills.

Job Type: Full-time


  • Garment construction: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Fashion design: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Adobe Illustrator: 1 year (Preferred)
