JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary The Assistant Buyer is responsible for managing the stock and drop-ship Supply Chain processes to maintain expected customer service levels. He/she manages stock inventory levels through purchasing decisions and returns; has the primary responsibility for developing day-to-day working relationships with assigned vendors and vendor representatives; and maintains the inventory and vendor database files as the primary tools for managing purchase orders and investment levels. Essential Job Functions Process small individual orders on a constant time-sensitive basis, maintaining accuracy and compliance across a wide variety of supplier requirements for submission. Process larger orders on a weekly schedule, maintaining accuracy and compliance across a wide variety of supplier requirements for submission. Analyze sales and inventory relationships to ensure in-stock and months of supply goals are achieve Identify aging or overstocked inventory and initiate vendor stock rotations. Respond on a short timescale to internal requests/needs on demand by collecting PO information from suppliers, such as tracking, fulfillment status, etc. Ensure our records are consistently and accurately maintained as per the most current information from our suppliers. Respond swiftly to customer service and sales department requests for purchase order status updates. Work closely with the Receiving team to research discrepancies between what is ordered and what is delivered. Partner closely with cross functional departments to resolve invoicing discrepancies. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Requires 1 year of related experience. Additional experience may be substituted for the education requirement. Qualifications Ability to research, analyze and make recommendations on administrative, management and procedural practices and other complex business problems. Analyze, evaluate and integrate business processes and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to manage and effectively prioritize multiple projects. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite required; AX experience preferred. Work Environment Work is performed in an office environment with minimal, if any, travel outside of the office. Requires the ability to sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; use of standard office equipment, including a computer, telephone, copier, printer and fax machine.
