Position Summary

Image Solutions is hiring an Assistant Buyer ready to help support the sourcing, merchandising, and sample ordering for apparel and promotional products. This position is part of the Supply Chain team, located in our Torrance, CA office. We are looking for an individual who has experience working with wholesale vendors, costing items for resale, and a basic understanding of manufacturing and production timelines. This individual must have a keen eye for product selection, while maintaining a good understanding of our customer’s brand and their individual needs. This position plays a critical role in supporting our company’s mission statement: To make our customers look and feel great at work.

This is a hybrid position. Our best fit candidate will have the ability to work in our Torrance, CA headquarters at least 1-2 days a week, as needed.


  • Source apparel and promotional items from a large selection of wholesale distributers
  • Select items that align with our customer’s brand look, need, and budget
  • Create and execute merchandise assortments based on selling/trends that will achieve financial plans
  • Develop and create merchandise seasonal catalogs to support organic sales
  • Grow and maintain strong relationships with vendor partners
  • Strategically scout new vendors to support business needs
  • Negotiate product quality, costs, and delivery with vendors
  • Support account managers and sales representatives by submitting accurate costing
  • Create and manage costing proformas in Netsuite and offline as needed
  • Manage and execute all domestic sample orders
  • Daily communication with suppliers, sourcing agents, and decorators
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by manager.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of three years buying or purchasing experience with a wholesale or distributor company
  • Experience with buying apparel, accessories, or promotional goods
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office – NetSuite experience, a plus
  • Experienced with costing products and an understanding of product margin
  • Basic knowledge of terminology of production and shipping items
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Consistent demonstration of professionalism, sound judgment, and integrity
  • Ability to multi-task and provide timely follow up
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational qualities a must
