Position Summary:

Meison is seeking an Assistant Buyer that will be responsible for the day-to-day duties in executing merchant plans and strategies. The assistant buyer position will be in frequent communication with our Marketing, Ecommerce, Sales and Design team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Buyer with purchase order placement and maintenance. Assists with reviewing assortment optimization, identifying and maximizing financial opportunities within the business
  • Assist in conducting line reviews and buy planning meetings for management
  • Dissemination of product knowledge, design inspiration, business and design focuses to Marketing, Ecommerce, and Management teams
  • Assist with pulling selling and unit performance reports
  • Ensures that merchandise samples are coordinated, photographed, cataloged, and shared with Marketing, PR, and Ecommerce teams
  • Run reporting to Monitor GPM% and delivery sell-throughs
  • Assist with markdown planning and product turn
  • Review promotional calendars

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year college or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on company needs
  • Strong knowledge of retail math including elements of markup, margin planning, open to buy, and inventory productivity measurements
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail and act with a sense of urgency
