The Assistant Buyer role will be responsible for supporting our merchandise buying team with a focus on footwear. This role will work closely with the Footwear Buyer and many departments across the company, including shipping and receiving, brand and ecommerce teams. They will perform operational functions to achieve sales, margin and inventory plans. This position reports to the Director of Purchasing.

Inventory Management

● Create product records

● Input purchase orders and manage the orders with vendors and buying team

● Execute price changes, transfers and RA requests

● Ensure adherence to MAP policy

● Monitor inventory levels based on sales

● Create, analyze and adjust model stocks

● Create and execute weekly sales reports

● Recap financial results from events and promotions

● Assist with EDI integration

Collaborate and Communicate

● Routine meetings with the Director of Merchandising and buying team

● Provide relevant product information, new product deliveries and availability of product to store teams, brand team and product flow team

Communicate price changes, stock balances, and RA’s to the retail stores and with vendors

● Assist with analysis of business

● Coordinate product seeding with store management group and employee purchase opportunities with HR

● Assist in communication and collaboration with vendors

Skills to be successful in this role

● Proficiency in Excel

● Strong analytical and organizational skills

● Detail oriented

● Data-driven decision making skills

● Able to manage multiple projects

● Willing to be adaptable to changing business needs

● Retail background is preferred
