An NTERMIX Assistant Buyer is responsible for partnering with the Buyer in achieving sales and profitability targets for Intermix. Support company’s merchandising strategy, open to buy process, business analysis, purchasing, allocation, flow of goods, team relationships and communication. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to self-motivate and have strong communication skills to work closely with Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Marketing, and all cross-functional teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with the buyer to drive growth in Footwear and Accessories, reflecting strategic development for the department within a multi-branded retail environment
  • Provide operational and administrative support to the Buyer in the development of the department OMNI merchandise strategy, product selection, and buying process in order to maximize sales and achieve margin and profitability targets
  • Continual vendor communication in regard to buying terms, PO fill rates, any quality/product issues or RTV needs
  • Continually research and explore new trends in marketplace and category, monitor industry trends, and evaluate competition
  • Assist in the completion of business recaps for both pre-season and in-season with direction from the Buyer
  • Partner with vendors to manage pricing, deliveries, and on order
  • Create quarterly merchandise suggestions for assortment strategy based on market competition and trend analysis
  • Partner with Planning team on open to buy, inventory management, selling trends and markdown projections
  • Understand the INTERMIX customer by channel (stores and ecommerce) and region, suggesting new ideas for vendors each season
  • Partner with Merchandise Assistant to manage sample orders and inventory

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years progressive buying experience for a multi-vendor luxury brand
  • Strong understanding of merchandising financials, retail math and the ability to manage profitability, and knowledge of OTB process
  • Keen fashion sense and trend forecasting ability
  • Strong analytical/planning skills and creative problem-solving skills required
  • Excel skills required; ability to work with buying tools/systems
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented working style
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and present business strategies both one-on-one and in a group setting
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain flexible in accordance with the startup
