Job Description: Assistant Designer
Location:Stamford, CT
Connecticut based Home Textiles company looking for an organized and enthusiastic Assistant Designer with a passion for Home Product Design to join our Stamford design team.

This Role will support Sr. Design leads in developing fresh, elevated, and high-quality textile products retailers such as Macy’s, Beall’s, TJX Group, Nordstrom's Rack, Costco and Burlington.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Updating/Re-coloring customer presentations per sales instructions.
- Help in preparation of set up of showroom for customer meetings
- Assist in creating tech packs for overseas vendors and follow development from concept to completion
- Adhere to seasonal time and action calendar for given accounts/categories
- Organize lab dips and print submits
- Participate in research and development of seasonal trends. Help curate Seasonal Trend boards for meetings
- Uploading tech packs to BeProduct (Internal PLM system)
- Tracking all development samples and communicating to direct reports status – including fabric samples, lab dips, strike-offs and other development materials
- Work with Product Development team to build color library
- Review PP and TOP samples to confirm color and construction accuracy
- Knowledge and ability to CAD up print repeats as final artwork, edit and recolor and match color from seasonal palette is key.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine art, Illustration, Fashion Design or Textile Design- Portfolio with examples of work required.
- 1-3 years of industry related experience.
- Candidate must live within commuting distance of Stamford. (Office is within walking distance from Stamford train station. Express commute is approx. 53 min from Grand Central Station)
- Driven and self-motivated with good time management skills
- Clear and proactive communication with the ability to multitask, work across functional lines and be able to pivot to shifting priorities at short notice.
- Ideal candidate should be Proficient in Adobe Suite Design Programs (Illustrator and Photoshop) and have some knowledge of PLM system.
