Assistant Designer (HYBRID)

Supports design leaders in designing an assortment that is relevant to brand position and target customer.

Accountabilities

• Builds, creates and updates tech packs, trim sheets and design packages; ensures information is accurately entered into PLM. Reviews with Designer/Senior Designer
• Supports in meeting preparation and breakdown including room set up, samples, reports, creating boards and line sheets
• Compiles market and trend research to review with Designer/Senior Designer, to gain understanding of the brand they support, drive innovation and stay current on the competition
• Completes pre-packages as a part of the research and development process for the Designer/Senior Designer they support
• Partner with Senior Designer to create presentations with clear direction and point of view for all Private Brand accessories for internal and external usage
• Represent each Private Brand's aesthetic of assortments to influence design direction and overall image inherent for each brand with vendors, product management and merchants
• Facilitate successful design, serving as a brand ambassador and liaison with vendor partners across all categories for Private Brands
• Supports execution of design, accuracy, quality and timely completion for a specific category or brand
• Serves as a creative liaison between internal and external partners and vendors
• Influence Design concept and may present to partners and vendor
• Shops market trends to create quarterly competitive reports
• Work with Senior/Designer to develop concept boards for monthly meetings

• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator & CAD
• Elevated taste level
• Previous experience in design or product accessory business and the competitive landscape

• Familiarity and moderate proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Ned Graphics, Kaledo or related program

• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design or related field
• Previous retail experience

• May have limited domestic travel
