As the Assistant Manager, Merchandising you will be responsible for assisting in developing a line plan aligned with seasonal merchandise strategies and acts as a liaison to the field on any questions relating to product or pricing. Assists in analyzing in-season business by tracking and reviewing sales information to identify opportunities to increase sales, improve margins, maximize inventories and decrease markdowns.

Description of Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in determining and directing the strategic focus of the product area by identifying growth, maintain and down trending businesses
  • Research and analyze historical performance and current business data to identify opportunities that challenge future season line planning
  • Collaborate with teams to develop brand appropriate seasonal assortments for each location
  • Assists with buys from point of entry to delivery of goods
  • Actively participates in merchandise product for new store openings to ensure organized, effective and timely delivery of product set up
  • Analyze departmental/class/style selling and product inventory by door performance and identify opportunities to respond to in season performance
  • Maintain close relationships with General Managers and store teams to allow effective and timely communication
  • Assist in the building, running, and distribution of daily and weekly reports
  • Ensure data integrity through the accurate creation of all new items and purchase orders
  • Assist in the creation and implementation effective product knowledge through the division inclusive of product knowledge tools and seminars
  • Work with visual partners to implement floor moves to drive sales based on product assortment
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the retail industry through store visits and competitive analysis


  • Computer proficiency (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
  • College degree required
  • At least 3 - 5 years of experience in the field

The appointed candidate will be offered a salary within the range of USD $60,000 - $70,000 annually, plus the opportunity for a bonus, a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks and retirement plans with employer contributions. This position is located at our Giorgio Armani Corporate Office in NYC and offers the opportunity for a hybrid on-site schedule.
