To support the merchandiser to maximise sales and gross margin for areas of control and the wider business through analysis, planning and forecasting and in season trading. Key responsibility to oversee the MA with the delivery schedule set and maintenance and support the whole intake forecasting process escalating any risks/ops. To become a role model for best practice in merchandising and develop skills and knowledge of junior members of the merchandising team.
ACTIVELY demonstrates understanding of weekly trade KPIs and use these to drive own actions
OVERSEES MA on the whole intake forecasting process and delivery schedule set up. Act as mentor
OWNERSHIP of markdowns and can propose and execute markdowns in line with guidelines
MANAGES continuity and recode forecasting making recommendations for exit strategies and reorders
PROVIDE analysis and summary of Markdown and Promotional activity for departments of responsibilities
- PRO-ACTIVELY monitors stock not online to drive just in priorities
- REVIEWS risks and ops for areas of opportunies, recommending actions to merchandiser.
INTERACT with other teams to improve to drive best practices and ensure consistencies across the floor
CONDUCT detailed ad-hoc and pro-active analytical analysis relating to all KPI's and dependants
SUPPORT the merchandiser across all areas of the department
Planning and Forecasting
FORECAST intake to feed into week to support demand planning for area of control
PARTNER with the ABs to produce lessons learnt analysis for budget meetings relating to KPI's
PLANNING and follow up of category plans, supporting buyers in decision making
UNDERSTANDS the budgeting process and overall strategy
SUPPORTS merchandiser in setting up budgeting sheets and analysis packs
OVERSEE buyers packs driving strategic questions for buying in line with dept KPI's
ANY OTHER ad hoc duties as reasonably requested
Fluent in written and spoken English
Minimum 1 years' experience at AM level
Experience managing and developing MA/Allocator
Demonstrates high level of accuracy, iniative and self development at all times.
Some exposure to the planning process/trading and trading ideally some experience of using WSSI
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to react appropriately to in-season trading.
