We are currently seeking a Junior Textile Designer to join our fast-growing team. Reporting to the Senior Graphic Artist, this role will work closely with other members of the Design team and cross-functionally with Merchandising and Planning. Working well as a collaborative member of the team is imperative to the success of this role, as is the ability to deliver designs in a high-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Create fun, unique, trend-setting patterns in a variety of styles while upholding the aesthetic of the Little Sleepies brand
  • Work with the Design team to develop new prints from concept to production on both original and licensed prints
  • Create seamless pattern repeats in Illustrator and Photoshop that are production-ready to share with the factory
  • Designs prints for Boys, Girls, and Gender-inclusive.
  • Review print strike-offs and makes corrections if needed
  • Create placement graphics to coordinate with patterns for the Playwear line
  • Adjust color, scale, and repeats as needed on existing patterns
  • Brainstorm and contribute to discussions on Design trends and print planning
  • Assist other designers with projects as necessary
  • You must be based in the LA area and be willing to work in the office at least 2-3 days per week

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design related studies - Textile/Surface Design a plus
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
  • Experience creating children’s textiles is a plus
  • Experience with hand-drawn and painted illustrations are a plus
  • Understand color theory and be able to color match effectively
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of design composition
  • Strong technical and organizational skills
  • Extremely detailed oriented
  • Ability to work well under pressure in tight deadlines
  • Ability to give and receive constructive criticism/critique
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Collaborative in nature
  • Experience in designing tech packs or graphic design is a plus
