TheAssistant Technical Designerwill be involved in all aspects and stages of tech design and perform basic tech design-related tasks with a special focus on specking and garment evaluation. Entry-level position will be a great opportunity to learn all aspects of the technical development of intimate apparel.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for making all fit preparations including measuring and reviewing garments against comments and specs sent
Prepare samples for fittings from proto samples to production samples; attend and participate in all fittings
Communicate to factories overseas
Assist and support tech design team with all technical and construction issues, questions, and concerns
Assist with construction adjustments and/or pattern adjustments
Work closely with tech design team to record sample status during all stages of development and approval processes
Assist with tracking, managing, and maintaining samples and sample closets
Responsible for maintaining and updating tech pack files (style development files, etc.)
Handle multiple projects and work quickly in a deadline-driven environment, without sacrificing quality

Position Requirements

Must have strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft office, with a focus on Excel
Basic technical knowledge in pattern development, garment construction and basic spec creation is required.
Must have a strong ability for detail work and a thorough understanding of fit
Strong work ethics, communication (written & verbal), and interpersonal skills
Resourceful, hands-on, and able to sense urgency
Ability to be flexible and adaptable within a fast-paced environment and be able to meet deadlines
Working knowledge of Lectra Modaris or Gerber for pattern-making manipulation a plus
Knowledge of Adobe Programs a plus

Associate’s and/or bachelor’s degree preferred
