The Assistant Technical Designer assists to ensure garment uniformity and consistency as it pertains to fit, construction and quality. This position is an integral part of the Technical Design team and will have frequent contact with a wide variety of cross functional teams and our vendors, clearly communicating all necessary information, in order to produce a high quality garment for production.

Job Duties
  • Assist with the collaboration with Technical Designers and Merchants to determine fit and aesthetic details.
  • Create and update tech packs and utilize Illustrator.
  • Attend fit sessions with Technical Designers, Product Managers and Merchants.
  • Assists in the approval of fit and construction of garments within development and production timelines under the direction of the Technical Designer.
  • Assist in ensuring labeling, marketing and packaging requirements are compliant with Brand standards.
  • Assist with the monitoring and tracking of all development and production styles.
  • Communicate fit comments and corrections to global technical partners, factories and vendors.
  • Interfaces with the Pre-Production and Production teams to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Attend weekly production meetings to gain cross functional alignment as needed.
  • Daily communication and follow through with cross functional and global partners and manager.
  • Organize all in and outgoing samples for department.
  • Maintain sample room organization.
  • Daily organization and upkeep of technical records.
  • Prepares and measures garments for fit sessions and meetings.
  • Actively participates and contributes to IDO sessions.
  • Ensure timelines and deadlines are met.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Basic knowledge of sewing, garment fitting, construction and pattern-making.
  • Good sense of fashion and proportion.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to utilize programs to conduct business; includes but not limited to Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop, Excel, Microsoft Office, Web PDM or other software based specification systems, Digistyle, Qlik, etc.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and time management capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal professional communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team environment.
  • Accountable to follow through on a task from beginning to end.
  • Willingness to assist as needed in the department.

Education & Experience
  • Associate's Degree or Certification in Pattern-making, Apparel Manufacturing, Design, or equivalent, with 1+ year(s) of experience in Technical Design or fabric and garment construction and manufacturing processes.
