Associate Buyer
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Associate Merchant is a critical member of the merchandising team providing timely and efficient financial analysis, operational and technical support that contributes positively to the overall performance of the business and the team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Conduct in-depth financial research and analysis.
· Prepare and update reports, make actionable business recommendations and to support business decision making process.
· Maintain buying office organization including sample administration quality and status.
· Check merchandise quality on samples.
· Create and update stock to weekly sales reports.
· Assess customer buying trends and prep comparison analysis observations and recommendations.
· Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned.
· Team with all internal department functions to develop line.
· Monitor deliveries and samples; coordinate flow of merchandise to stores.
· Track merchandise on database chart.
· Acts as a team player sharing responsibility for achievement of goals and objectives.
· Works effectively under deadline pressure or in unusual or new work situations.
· Possesses up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and applies best practices to existing problems.
· Demonstrates technical skills and abilities related to position and function.
· Listens attentively, speaks and writes clearly and concisely.
· Accepts challenging assignments to promote skill development and achieve goals and objectives.
REQUIREMENTS:
· 2 - 3 years experience in an Assistant Merchant role.
· Fashion retail or related experience - Apparel experience a must.
Vertical product development experience required.
· Strong financial and business acumen.
· Strong PC knowledge especially excel.
· Possess sense of fashion trends.
· Excellent verbal and solid written communication skills.
· Flexible and multifunctional.
· Assertive, energetic and results driven.
· Well organized and detail oriented.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree
