Job Description:

The Associate Buyer helps drive the Accessories business and is accountable to help achieve sales and margin objectives. The Associate Buyer will partner with the Senior Director of Merchandising to develop and execute seasonal assortment planning strategies, as well as manage relationships with our partners in Paris, to maximize sales and exceed customer expectations. The Associate Buyer plays a lead role in the merchandising process and product lifecycle

Responsibilities:

  • Drives the assortment planning and multi-category management for Accessories
  • Composes weekly, seasonal, and ad hoc business recaps providing in-depth analysis of the business
  • Owns seasonal OTB projections in Aptos (2x year)
  • Partners with the Senior Director of Merchandising on the full product life cycle including seasonal line plan development, assortment planning, and merchandise selection
  • Effectively communicates with worldwide merchants and teams on product feedback and market needs including assortment initiatives, strategic pricing, and product placement
  • Manages the Permanent assortment of Accessories, making sure stock is maintained
  • Demonstrates a keen understanding of the product, design, and industry trends in order to aid product decisions and smart risk-taking
  • Partners with production and alerts team of inbound receipts and delays
  • Consistently monitors business at detailed levels (i.e. by store and by SKU) and implements initiatives to maximize local business opportunities
  • Analyzes sales and defines action plans to further grow the category
  • Identifies market needs and opportunities
  • Partners with North America Training and Development Lead to ensure stores are well trained on product and seasonal collection inspiration
  • Works closely with other internal departments including Stores, Marketing, E-commerce, Operations, Visual Merchandising, and Customer Service

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience in a retail environment, multichannel experience is preferred
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and leadership skills
  • Flexible and positive attitude; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in all of Microsoft Office/Suite
  • Creative vision and awareness of trends
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
