Position Summary

The Associate Designer for menswear dress shirts (shirting) position is a key role in the design and development of product from building initial concept to completion of development. This includes understanding numerous design aesthetics in menswear and contributing viable designs to the necessary brands.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities Of The Job

  • Takes direction from the Manager and expands on direction/inspiration. It is important that the designer have a voice and vision of their own.
  • Takes trend and market research and works innovative designs into brand appropriate styles
  • Participates in seasonal trend books and media presentation through the use of Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Analyzes with Manager on past best sellers and worst sellers for future development
  • Reviews with Manager SKU plans to formulate needed design work for upcoming season.
  • Support presenting Design product to Licensors, Sales and Retailers, must also be comfortable in presenting in large group internally.
  • Travels to shop the market when applicable, as well as present product to key retailers
  • Other related job functions are at the discretion of the manager as needed
  • Make compelling Digital product presentations to Sales and Cross Functional Teams

Dress shirt seasonal developments

  • Creates viable brand appropriate designs through CAD for Dress shirt
  • Participate reviews Dress shirt pattern work with the Raw Materials team
  • In charge of sample check in as well as working with the appropriate groups to resolve any issues pertaining to samples
  • Develops new trims and buttons
  • Utilizes Illustrator/Photoshop to create art work for trim development
  • Reviews all Dress shirt H/E, Lab Dips and H/L NYO approval with Manager
  • Coordinates and prepares new development hand off with the Tech and Design team
  • Participates as necessary in model set up
  • PLM entry & communicating with Design product development on correct information for Tech pack creation



  • 2-3 years related experience required,
  • In depth knowledge of computer software skills is preferred


  • Bachelor Degree or Equivalent


  • Creative and driven
  • Browzwear or comparable 3D garment rendering software
  • InDesign
  • Dobby Pro
  • Photo Shop
  • Illustrator
  • Microsoft Office
