Job description

Associate Designer - Madewell Dresses/ Jumpsuits

Responsibilities

- Design and develop 4 seasonal woven Dress + Jumpsuit collections.

- Manage creative and technical development of product within merchandise assortment strategy.

- Research seasonal trends, fabrics, yarndyes, color, trims and embroidery.

- Collaborate with Merchandising, Production, Fabric, and Technical Design teams to achieve product execution and maintain design integrity.

- Assist designer fittings by taking notes and managing BOM and Sketch updates.

- Create design cards for all development samples, including sketches, construction details, and layouts.

- Seasonal linesheets + BOMs

- Assist with development of Trim + Embroidery layouts

- Assist in approval of all wash, fabric quality, trim, thread, and lab dip submits.

Qualifications

- 2-4 Design experience

- High taste level, understanding of brand aesthetic, and creative ability

- Proficient technical knowledge of woven fabrics and details

- Ability to adhere to deadlines and calendars

- Knowledge of seasonal silhouette, fabric, and color trends

- Knowledge of garment construction and fabric and trim

- Strong illustration skills

- Proven ability to research and apply market and fashion trends

- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently

- Detail oriented and strong follow through

- Strong organizational, communication, and written skills

- Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, Flex PLM, Microsoft Word, and Excel

- BA Fashion Design
