Associate Designer & Product Developer
About the Role
FINESSE represents the new generation of fashion companies powered by the latest technology. Our dynamic Design & Product Development Team translates covetable trends into tangible products on a tight weekly timeline. We are looking for a creative Associate Designer & Product Developer with experience in design and product development. Must have a strong understanding of construction and the ability to CAD and prepare Teck packs.
The Associate Designer & Product Developer report to the Senior Fashion Designer & Product Developer and support the Product Department's day-to-day functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development process from inception through production
- Assist with sourcing: fabric, trims, and new techniques
- Assist with initial sketching, CADs, print mockups
- Build Tech Packs: CADs, BOMs, Constructions and initial specs
- Send out Tech Packs, artwork files, and POs
- Create and maintain: PLM system, Product Listings, Line Guide, and other company documents
- Participate in fittings by taking clear notes to ensure design intent and fits are properly executed
- Track Development and Production milestones to ensure the timely deliveries of Samples, Bulk Shipments, and TOPs
- Log, spec, and QC TOPs to ensure the accuracy of bulk production
- Organize and maintain: sample racks, physical and digital material library
- Update weekly vendor WIP reports
About You
You are an enthusiastic self-starter who loves to take initiative and enjoys tackling challenging problems with creative solutions. Your curiosity and inquisitiveness drive you to explore new methods and approaches, and you have an abundance of energy to wear multiple hats and continuously strive to innovate and improve.
Recommended Background
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- At least 2-3 years of experience
- Understanding of product development: timeline, costing, and margins
- Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, and Adobe Suite: Illustrator and Photoshop
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis
- Must be detail-oriented and have strong analytical skills
- Take on ownership of individual projects while working on collaborative projects
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with an appropriate sense of urgency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
