Overview

The Associate Digital Merchandiser is responsible for connecting product performance, marketing strategies, customer experience analytics, and ecommerce best practices to create a delightful and easy shopping experience on llbean.com. Designed for a creative problem-solver and analytical thinker, this role will support the Ecommerce team in meeting our bold growth targets by defining, measuring, and executing excellent customer experiences.

In this highly collaborative role on an exciting and growing team, the Associate Digital Merchandiser is responsible for the customer journey, digital experience, and selling strategies for a set of departments/categories.

Digital Merchandisers form conversion and demand-driving strategies based on sitewide experience principles, merchandise strategies, corporate priorities, and analysis of performance data. This means understanding how customers shop as well as the product assortment to identify and improve product information and organization, site features and functionality, and content to increase engagement on llbean.com.

Responsibilities

  • Define the browse experience across Outdoor Equipment, Home Goods, and Bags categories-product categorization, category navigation, and filter strategies based on customer engagement KPIs, product performance insights and research
  • Develop expertise in customer and site analytics tools and data including GA360 and Quantum Metric, act as the Subject Matter Expert on the team and create and maintain dashboards
  • Analyze in-season performance, make updates as needed and elevate broader opportunities to the Manager of Digital Merchandising to represent at the corporate in-season management group
  • Collaborate with Visual Merchandising, Site Publishing, and Content teams to ensure product display, product information, and selling-focused content strategies enhance the customer's understanding of products
  • Act as a key partner with the On-Site Search Team to ensure accuracy of search results and sort orders to increase findability of products
  • Identify opportunities for site experience enhancements, partner with Senior Digital Merchandiser to form the business case and advocate for features and functionality
  • Identify testing opportunities and form hypotheses based on site performance data and analysis. Partner with Site Testing teams on implementation and measurement of A/B tests
  • Gain an understanding of back-end product information, the connections between systems, and how this information displays and impacts the shopping experience. Partner with Merchandising and Enterprise Information Management to optimize as needed
  • Create and maintain calendars documenting and communicating support for seasonal product priorities
  • Foster a closer partnership with Merchandising and deep understanding of the product line, provide feedback loop on digital performance and product optimization opportunities

Profile

Skills and Qualifications

Education: BA or BS required

Experience: 1 year in Site Merchandising or other related digital fields

  • Previous experience working in e-commerce, direct to customer preferred
  • Web analytics experience with an understanding of web metrics, measurement, and reporting tools (Google Analytics, Quantum Metrics, Tableau, Excel)
  • Critical and creative thinking to make decisions and solve problems by synthesizing information from multiples sources
  • Ability to communicate to various audiences clearly and confidently
  • A focus on gaining new knowledge, and embracing opportunities to learn
  • A collaborative spirit with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with a wide range of people
  • Ability to organize and handle multiple workstreams, prioritize workload with shifting priorities, and act autonomously
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to adjust to a quickly changing environment
  • Proactivity, curiosity, inquisitiveness, and a passion for ecommerce
