The Workroom LA is a full cycle apparel manufacturer with Mens and Womens brands and an extensive private label portfolio. We are a small tight-knit team of passionate and creative individuals who value integrity, responsibility, and fun. Our growing team is seeking a Associate Fashion Designer to support our Thread & Supply (https://threadandsupply.com/) division. This role will work closely with the Lead Designer to create tech packs and support the development process of samples.

Core Responsibilities:

Creates full tech packs and BOMs that meet Designers vision, concept, and fit expectations
Participates in fit sessions to review overall fit, balance, and details of the garment; update tech packs with fit comments and BOM updates
Assist with trend research, colors, fabrics, and trims
Maintain well organized fabric swatch and trim library
Work on design and concept for updates to best-selling styles
Perform additional duties and assignment as requested

Communication:

Communicates clearly with local and overseas vendors to oversee timely production of samples and handling of fit/construction issues.
Production-liaising between the Design and Development/Production Team

Competencies:

Degree in Apparel or Fashion (2-4-year program)
Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
Strong organizational skills and attention to product detail
Strong sketching skills required
Pattern knowledge
Color sensibility
Knowledge of the wash/dye process, embellishments and different fabrication
Experience fitting on a live model
Meticulous and organized
Able to take direction with minimal supervision
Follow through on all given tasks to completion
Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail
Flexible and adaptable in a rapidly growing company
