Associate Footwear Designer, Men’s Dress & Dress Casual
The Associate Footwear Designer will assist in the ideation, creation and development of inspirations, stories, vision, and innovative product solutions that help drive the Cole Haan Men’s Dress and Dress Casual Footwear Design. This role will support and partner in the creation of industry leading seasonal product which will be informed by their expert knowledge of men’s footwear and popular culture including, style, sport and fashion trends, art and music.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Associate Footwear Designer will assist in the ideation, creation and development of inspirations, stories, vision, and innovative product solutions that help drive the Cole Haan Men’s Dress and Dress Casual Footwear Design. This role will support and partner in the creation of industry leading seasonal product which will be informed by their expert knowledge of men’s footwear and popular culture including, style, sport and fashion trends, art and music.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Responsible for producing CADs, line art and presentation materials that effectively communicate product concepts and the creative strategy for men’s footwear internally.
- Collaborate with the design team to create proprietary product designs, hardware and refreshes to existing product that reflects Cole Haan's design philosophy, quality guidelines and will inspire targeted consumers.
- Partner with the Product Merchandising and Product Development to receive and organize prototypes for presentations.
- Create all tech packs and specs for prototypes and manage and oversee the road lot samples.
- Assist with the creation, organization and execution of concept boards that reflect the seasonal point of view.
- Conduct research on site and off.
- Special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of Associates Degree, preferably in fashion, footwear or industrial design.
- 2+ years of related experience in Men’s Footwear Design or Industrial Design.
- Ability to work on a high pressure, fast paced team environment.
- Exceptional hand sketching skills.
- Previous hands-on traditional footwear development skills (material specs and tech packs)
- Strong knowledge and understanding of color and material as it relates to men’s fashion and footwear; coupled with a strong knowledge of market trends as it relates to Cole Haan product image and quality.
- Must have a high degree of proficiency with Digital Design Platforms (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and PLM.
- Ability to work under deadlines, manage multiple priorities, work independently, and pay close attention to detail.
This position is not available to be performed in Colorado.
