Associate Merchandiser (Apparel)

The Associate Merchandiser helps identify, develop and execute product strategies and initiatives while assisting with managing the product lifecycle, product information and seasonal calendars for Southern Tide. The incumbent works cross-functionally to blend analytics and creative thinking to create a successful line that is true to the Southern Tide aesthetic and excites the customer.
Crew Position:
- Communicate cross-functionally between sales channels, marketing, design, planning, sourcing, and production teams to maintain corporate calendar and deliver on-time product
- Work closely with the sales team to research and combine sales data and customer shopping patterns, creating a plan that will drive business.
- Generate and share weekly, monthly, and seasonal sales reporting that includes actionable takeaways.
- Become the expert in current selling analysis and current fashion trends to minimize changes to the line.
- Conduct competitive shopping analysis to evaluate product white space opportunities
- Assist manager in competitive retail pricing strategies
- Collaborate with design team daily to help create product that is true to the Southern Tide brand
- Responsible for the organization, maintenance, and presentation of product line samples
- Assist in the preparation of and attend all major merchandising milestone meetings
- Partner with manager to bring any quality/delivery concerns to the table and offer creative solutions to help resolve these concerns
- Serve as a product expert showcasing knowledge of product and stages of the product development process
- Attend all fit meetings to be the voice of the customer while holding design and technical design teams responsible for calendar deadlines and margin targets

Know the ropes...
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Merchandising, Business, or related program degree preferred.
- Generally, 2+ years of experience in merchandising, or related field.
- High proficiency in standard Microsoft Office programs, experience utilizing Excel analytical tools (formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
