Essential Job Functions (Tasks, duties and responsibilities most important to get the job done)

Creative Development - 75%:

  • Create original, innovative and emotional art that is brand appropriate for multiple apparel categories
  • Develop gender and age specific print/pattern that displays originality and versatility with minimal direction from manager
  • Provide a point of view on techniques through scale, layouts, print techniques with an understanding of general mill capabilities and limitations
  • Research trend and develop a vision to bring newness and fresh ideas to concept
  • Create artwork with strong adoption rate internally and with external customer

Creative Process/Calendar & Cross-functional Collaboration - 25%


  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines and follow through on all projects
  • Follow and support all established procedures within Art Department
  • Attend hindsight and sample review meetings to gain insight on selling and production capabilities
  • Work with Graphics, Design and Merchandising teams to develop a cohesive point of view


  • Accuracy in executing paperwork and art procedures
  • Communicate all updates with management and follow through with team
  • Basic knowledge of legal process as it relates to creative

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements (minimum competencies required for job performance)

  • Possess strong working knowledge of Illustrator & Photoshop, basic color and layout skills as demonstrated through a portfolio of work
  • Possess strong knowledge of color, trends and layout with the ability to apply that to art
  • Basic understanding of techniques and materials for fabric printing
  • Possess strong communication skills, display a high level of professionalism with team members, and positive attitude
  • Display organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task and remain focused in a fast-paced environment.

Prior Work Experience And Educational Requirements

  • Degree in Illustration, Fabric/Textile Design, or related field required
  • 2+ years Industry Experience
