Your role at Tumi:

The Associate Technical Designer supports the design team in full price collections, outlet collections, and the development process. This position supports the design team and the development process, from start of the design to production.

  • Review all designs with designers, assist in design presentation, and create technical drawings and Photoshop cad images of the designs to be used for internal communications, concept deck, sampling, and for production development. Suggest options to achieve aesthetic intent, and ensure common elements are consistent across collections and all elements meet the TUMI standard.
  • This position will also be responsible for maintaining specification changes, update technical drawings as well as reviewing confirmation samples with designers and product developers.
  • Will be assisting in communicating and following up on the technical information to the appropriate departments in the US and overseas to achieve the desired design intent.
  • Will be responsible for maintaining the technical design and cads from start of hand off to production. Maintain specification changes and update technical drawing throughout the development process.
  • Participate in the review of confirmation samples with Product Development and Design.
  • Maintain and update digital cad library of current and new products. Create/maintain standards library and seasonal print library.
We're excited if you have:

  • Minimum 1+ years Technical/Engineering experience with consumer products, bags, small leather goods, or travel product.
  • Organized and detail orientated, self-motivated, proactive, and works well with the team as well as independently.
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills and demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Fashion, Engineering, industrial design or equivalent related experience.
  • Strong computer skills including use of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat, and multi-media presentation.

Minimum Pay Rate:

$31.25 per hour

Maximum Pay Rate:

$34.62 per hour
