The Associate Technical Designer is primarily responsible for supporting the Patternmakers and Senior Technical Designer in executing consistent production fit, grading, pattern approvals and maintaining accurate measurement specifications. Incumbent is also responsible for fit session administration and data entry functions for the assigned product category.

Position OverviewEssential Job Functions

Works with the Patternmaking team and Senior Technical Designer to establish specifications for garments.Receives, measures and prepares all fit samples for review. Follows up and assists with communications with overseas production partners.Prepares for fittings by assembling inspiration samples, tech packs, patterns and fit sample history.Manages the Fit Log to record and document when fit samples arrive and completion status.Participates in fit sessions, and takes notes as per Patternmakers suggestionsSeeks new ways to make the fit process more efficient.Works with Product Development Team on acceptance/rejection of samples. Determines fit correction comments and updates Tech Packs accordingly.Supports the preparation of technical packages by entering measurements, pictures, sketches, and additional information as necessary.Education and Certifications, Experience and Skills, and Competencies

Bachelor's degree in technical design, design or pattern making required.Generally, 2+ years' experience as a technical designer or fit technicianKnowledge of and experience with garment construction and spec grading required.Pattern making, sewing and draping experience strongly preferred.Microsoft Office, macOS, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)Good oral and written communication skillsExcellent time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Strong organization skillsDetail-oriented

Compensation: $27 - $35/hour
