Job description

It is important that the ideal candidate possesses a passion to create forward thinking designs, work fast & accurately, have the ability to create technical packages and bring the concept into a production ready garment.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily communication with Customers and suppliers

Following deadlines and time and action calendars.

Design and Produce tech packs for Men’s, apparel for various brands

Prepares complete technical packages and specs.

Measure sample garments and prepare tech reports.

Knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, screen printing,

Knowledge on Apparel Point of Measurements

Creates merchandise boards for presentations.

Must have experience in creating technical packages. Technical Designer will be responsible for successfully achieving fit approval, desired appearance, and established quality standards as well as maintaining fit consistency. This includes managing all aspects of technical garment specification development/execution from conception through production and receipt across a range of product categories including both knit and woven goods. , the Technical Designer will work with the Technical team to enhance and evolve departmental processes and procedures to broaden technical knowledge while continually striving to elevate quality standards in addition to partnering with the Merchandising teams to ensure and fit/quality of all products is maintained at a consistently high level.

Primary and Secondary Job Responsibilities:

  • Measure/prepare fit samples for approval and lead fit sessions.
  • Make appropriate recommendations in collaboration with peer teams on matters pertaining to specs,, construction methods, and techniques to improve fit, balance, and overall quality of the garment.
  • Create and issue standard graded specs in preparation of bulk production.
  • Utilize software, digital photos, and technical sketches to effectively communicate with vendors domestically and globally.
  • Develop and issue technical proto packages for use in costing and product development.
  • Conduct quality/returns/fit analysis of repeat items and present results/solutions to peer groups.
  • Create and maintain documentation to record ongoing vendor fit performance.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Degree in Fashion Design or Certification in Apparel Manufacturing, Technical Design,
  • 2+ yrs. - experience in men’s apparel technical design/construction/ pattern making
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and problem solve.
  • Extremely detailed and accurate.
  • Ability to fit and interpret fit. Experience leading fit sessions and the ability to communicate ideas/corrections and answer questions appropriately.
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign .
  • In depth knowledge textiles, garment construction, and apparel production.
