Our Product Department is looking for an enthusiastic Technical Designer to develop the specs and fit of our garments from initial design concept through to final fit approval. The position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our products. The Technical Designer will work closely with Design, Merchandise and Production Teams to achieve high standards of quality and consistency in fabric, measurements, fit and construction.  This role will work closely with Design, Merchandise and Production Teams to achieve high standards of quality and consistency in fabric, measurements, fit and construction. 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-4:30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage tracking of all samples
  • Accurately spec garments and prepare all samples for fitting
  • Lead first fit sample fittings, taking clear and concise notes for vendor comments ensuring all corrections were made
  • Input images into Technical Packages after each fitting and share with all necessary parties
  • Manage all sample/first fit comments/approvals and communicate to vendors/production team
  • Create development Tech Packs twice a year for new season sketches
  • Responsible for fittings during our biannual line review to write fit comments and clearly communicate to vendors
  • Assisting to standardize color and fabric standards across all vendors

Qualifications

  • Bridal experience preferred
  • Degree in Technical Design, Design or related
  • 2 Experience in creating accurate technical spec packages
  • Proficient in pattern making, grading, and construction methods
  • Strong ability to accurately spec garments
  • Knowledge of fabric and inner components
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude, enthusiastic and willingness to learn
  • Flexible and adaptable to a very fast-paced environment
  • Effective time management and ability to stay organized
  • Ability to analyze fit issues and propose valid & actionable solutions
  • Adept at time management with the ability to set priorities, plan and meet overlapping deadlines
