Who we are looking for

We are seeking aBuyer and Planning Specialistthat will own crafting and maintaining standard methodologies across all sample product sources. This role is the partner across concepts, merchandising, VMS and Samples teams across the enterprise. They will align with cross functional teams, land the right assortment direction by concept and work with the Product Lifecycle & Logistics Manager to ensure on time seasonal samples purchasing. This role also participates in code in order to understand seasonal and product needs across the shops.

What you will work on

This individual will operationalize samples buying and planning for the innovation lab so that Concepts, Functions and Geos will be able to use a proper seasonal assortment for planning and implementing end in mind assortments while ultimately enabling the team to move faster, make better decisions and serve Nike consumers! In addition, you will

  • Work across key partners in Merchandising, VMS and Buying Manger to land correct seasonal assortment for each concept mock shop
  • Partner with individuals at samples end to move to the proper channels
  • Participate in code gates prior to placing samples orders to understand seasonal direction and ensure impactful assortments in the buy.
  • Serve the needs of the tenants while observing policies and protocols for product access and availability
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and training materials for new and existing staff to ensure accurate inventory operations
  • Identify and elevate risks, issues, roadblocks and suggest solutions
  • Supporting continuous improvement where teams are encouraged to inspire change
  • Proactively make valuable contributions to a problem-solving Product Management community
  • Ensure inventory processes meets or exceeds Nike product security standards
Who you will work with
  • You will be reporting to the Sr. Buyer and Planning Manager for the NSiL
  • Work with key global partners in Merchandising and VMS to understand key needs for each concept mock shop
  • Will also work with consumer creations operations on order process and product availability
What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree or higher; or combination of relevant education, experience and training
  • 3+ Years experience in retail leadership, buying, planning and/or inventory logistics
  • Expertise in Smartsheet, Tableau and Excel
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds, stand for 8 hours and climb ladders
  • Consistently add to the continuous improvement of inventory accuracy and establish critical metrics
  • Identify root cause and process failures causing inventory errors
  • Own stewardship of product and completeness of inventory on campus (including temporary lockers and closets)
