About the Role

Danrie, launched in October 2022, is a luxury children’s multi-label e-tailer seeking a Buyer/Merchandiser. The VP of Buying + Merchandising is an incredible and experienced executive with a vision for how the category can evolve, and is looking to bring on a Buying and Merchandising Manager to report to her. The right candidate will be excited to jump in, learn, lead, and do, and be operationally minded. This role will be based in NYC and be an in-office role in the Danrie HQ.


  • Embrace a 360° mentality to both lead and support various buying and merchandising initiatives.
  • Aid the VP of Buying and Merchandising to execute strategy throughout the 800+ sku count catalog.
  • Execute the buying process including product selection and building assortments based on financial projections/department strategies and eventually historical performance.
  • Analyze business on a weekly, quarterly, and seasonal basis to inform in-season discussions and future buying seasons.
  • Lead post-market and post-season reviews for cross functional teams to share learnings and ensure the marketing calendar messaging and trends are aligned.
  • Manage product presence and merchandising online, at events/trunk shows, and eventually in store.
  • Manage all aspects of the buying process including vendor relationships, maintain buy sheets, Shopify management, proactively providing excellent service but tracking order status, sending buys, and checking invoices & final orders.
  • Research and attend buying markets and trade shows as the brand representative.
  • Analyze online wholesale marketplaces (i.e. Faire, NuOrder, Brandboom) for new brands and category opportunities.
  • Ensure accuracy on-site for products, inventory and collections in Shopify to optimize the customer experience.
  • Bring new ideas and new assortment opportunities to the team.


  • 3-5 years of buying and merchandising experience, preferably for an omni-channel or e-commerce brand. Start-up and/or children’s label experience is a plus.
  • Strong capabilities within data, analytics, and some financial analysis
  • Team player but also comfortable working in a self-starter environment.
  • Proactive problem-solver by nature, and ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and ensure expectations are established.
  • Highly organized, analytical with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage up.
  • Embraces change, and is able to adapt as the business needs change.
  • Help build and maintain company culture as well as hiring for new roles
  • Proficiency in as many of these platforms as possible: G-suite, Google Analytics, Shopify.
