The Procurement Buyer role is focused on supporting Bath & Body Works with inventory management, sourcing through the execution and analysis of competitive requests for proposal (RFPs), supplier selection and management, coordination of risk assessment and project management.  The position requires strong team working skills, project management skills, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to execute multiple priorities simultaneously. Candidates for this position must be driven and passionate to consistently perform at high levels in a very fast paced environment. The individual in this role will act as a central point of management and direction to drive project deliverables to completion while simultaneously sharing information and best practices across diverse operating teams to consolidate departmental initiatives and results

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, supporting the direct supervisor and the broader category team in:

  • Responsible for inventory and budget management to support daily store operations in an efficient, cost effective manner
  • Supports real estate store activity by ensuring stores open on-time with complete supply packages
  • Supports and/or manages the relationship with internal brand customers; operations, visual & finance, working cross-functionally to deliver on objectives within a seasonal budget
  • Performs competitive sourcing events: develops strong negotiation skills through supplier selection and alignment of capabilities and business requirements; manages quality of products with timely issue resolution; driving total cost of ownership
  • Completes inventory management and analysis on an ongoing basis; manages levels to mitigate risk and avoid stagnant product
  • Adheres to requirements regarding regulatory, sourcing, and production
  • Lead project management for a variety of cross-functional projects such as (but not limited to): new or updated standard operating procedures (SOPs); development and maintenance of training materials; customer/supplier surveys and feedback initiatives; continuous improvement initiatives; departmental training and development around SRM.
  • Manages categories, specifically the BBW office supply program, fleet leased vehicles and translation services programs including competitive benchmarking, customer relationship management, business reviews and management to defined SLA’s to ensure effective category performance

  • Completes administrative tasks accurately and timely:

    • Tactically supports needs of team and customers in regards to accurate data entry, reporting and analysis for Non-merch programs
    • Audits and approves invoices; resolves discrepancies timely and ensures credits are received
    • Updates Standard Operating Procedures
    • Manages meeting agendas, meeting notes, and project management tracking spreadsheets
    • Manages issue resolution in support of the supply program, proactively identifying trends and making recommendations to align on weekly buys to support changing business needs
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Statistics, Finance or Accounting
  • Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Professional in Supply Management, and/or Project Management Professional certifications are a plus
  • 3-5 years of retail procurement experience required with an understanding and focus in supply chain, retail operations, and financial analytics
  • Proficient in MS office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
