As the Outlet Merchandiser/Buyer, you will play an important role in the company by overseeing the marketing, branding and promotions of the company’s products. This position is responsible for increasing customer sales through marketing and promoting products to their target audience.

Description of Responsibilities

  • Oversee seasonal inventory availability across multiple business channels
  • To oversee the development, execution, and communication of special production merchandise strategies that meet financial plans.
  • To be accountable to the Outlet division’s sales results, inclusive of gross sales, net sales, discount and sell through results.
  • To control all facets of the inventory management process for the U.S and Canada driving merchandising strategies.

Overview of Critical Duties

  • Analyze past season inventory ownership and develop/execute allocation strategies to maximize sales opportunities across the division.
  • Develop brand appropriate outlet exclusive assortments in partnership with Italy HQ and management, which incorporates product trends, historical data and field input. Identify and recommend big ideas/ key items positioning to ensure they meet financial targets. Formulate and continually evaluate pricing strategies.
  • Partner with planning and management to complete top down and bottoms up planning for each dept both seasonally in business plans and monthly in OTB. Provide clear costing targets/strategies for sourced products.
  • Present assortment to senior management for approval by developing presentation structure and content, and ensuring appropriate analysis is completed. Identify business opportunities and risks in-season through analyzing sales performance and gathering marketplace/trend information.
  • Change future Department strategies in-season where needed and provide appropriate and timely direction to the cross- functional team in order to react quickly to customer and business trends.
  • Analyze OTB and take action as necessary, recommending changes to future on order, promotional activities or markdown strategies.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of retail network through store visits and competitive analysis.
  • Build and maintain effective business plans and relationships for all outlet locations.
  • Monitor and provide development and training of assistant buyer and cross-functional team.
  • Work with Visual team to create strong floor sets and accurate documents in order to drive promotional activity and sales.
  • Create and implement effective product knowledge through the division inclusive of product knowledge tools and seminars.


· Bachelor’s Degree or master’s degree preferred

· 5-7 years of experience within this field

· Must possess advanced excel skills and technical proficiency
