We are looking for a talented Buying Assistant to join our Menswear team, that will be able to provide full administrative support for our RTW Buying Office. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking to pursue a career in Buying, which allows great exposure to our RTW collections and room to progress within the team.

About You:

- Ideally you have some experience at a similar level within the fashion industry, work experience or degree level within the industry.

- Highly systematic and well organised with the ability to prioritise your workload and use own initiative.

- Good interpersonal and presentation skills with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- You will have a commercial mindset, with the ability to identify any opportunities and risks to clearly inform trading decisions for the department.

- A reliable, confident and outgoing individual who enjoys working with and meeting people and can adapt well within diverse audiences and environments.

- Flexible and approachable with the ability to work as an effective team member.

- Keen interest in fashion and a wider interest in culture, music, literature and the arts.

- Well-presented and has a passion for the Paul Smith brand.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the upload process of all seasonal orders to our in-house system, ensuring the relevant forward orders are raised accurately and on time.

- Run and compile weekly, monthly and seasonal buying reports and distribute to the Buying & Merchandising Team and the wider business as appropriate.

- Attend the seasonal buying appointments, when necessary, assist with order writing and any other administrative support when applicable.

- Take ownership of the seasonal training manuals for the Retail shops, ensuring that these contain all relevant product and brand information to maximise sales.

- Act as a liaison between the Buying Office, Retail shops and the wider business, developing relationships to resolve any relevant queries and issues that arise.

- Support the team when required, assist in proactively reviewing department performance and trading of stock, working closely with the Senior Buyer and Merchandiser to generate ideas to maximise sales opportunity.

- Have a strong understanding of the online and in-store competitive landscape, creating comp shop documents for the team when required.

- Effectively manage the Buying Office diary, including arranging buying appointments, store visits and international travel for the team.

Essential Experience and Skills Required:

- Strong administration skills with the ability to analyse and interpret data and can assist with report compilation.

- Very methodical, accurate and can work at speed, with the ability to work to set deadlines.

- Advanced Microsoft Office suite knowledge including Excel, Word and Outlook.

- Up to date knowledge of Menswear fashion trends and the fashion industry as a whole.
