Max Pay Rate: $35-37/hour depending on years of experience

Hours: 9am-6pm Mon-Fri with one hour for lunch
Location: NYC hybrid strongly preferred; will consider remote EST/CST candidates
Reports To: Director, Global Visual Merchandising
Planet Technology is seeking a Production Designer to assist one of our well-known beauty clients.
This newly created role will be an important part of the team charged with creating this brand's "Store of the Future" experience. This person will work closely with Director of Graphic Production and the Innovation Team to create visually impactful artwork that tells the story of the brand in-store.
This person is creative leaning - not concept design - but will help build visual stories. You will be working on campaigns and other program launches as well as innovative evergreen store design, often tailored to Geo regions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with 3D merchandising designer and creative leads on all Innovation projects, ensuring a clear and cohesive visual narrative. This includes image selection for storytelling, cropping, copy layouts, and occasional image mockups for photo retouching.
- Create production-ready artwork and mechanicals, including but not limited to lightboxes, on-counter display artwork, window displays, signage, and logo placement.
- Create visual merchandising guidelines for all Innovation initiatives.
- Partner with Creative Operations to manage responsibilities within timelines and meet deadlines.
- Support brand strategy, look, and feel.
- Provide competitive landscape recaps highlighting disruptive and interesting creative to inspire and inform future concepting of innovation projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in visual merchandising.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Indesign.
- Strong understanding of design principles, image selection, copy layout, and typography.
- Knowledge of production techniques and mechanicals.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Innovative thinker who considers themselves a strong visual storyteller.
- Be informed and passionate about the new wave of in-store/ brick-and-mortar retail experiences and the role of 2D creative in the store journey.
- Ability to quickly integrate into a new role and make an immediate impact on projects.
- Work well in a cross-functional team environment and maintain a positive outlook in a dynamic environment.
- A Beauty/Cosmetics background is highly preferred
- Other CPG visual merchandising experience is helpful
