The Sr. IT Infrastructure Architect - Monitoring and Metrics will be responsible for setting the global direction for how the organization alerts, reports, and responds to any IT incident or outage. This individual will work with in house tooling and service providers to provide consistent alerting and notifications for all critical applications. Additionally, you will work other IT departments and service managers to establish appropriate responses to any alert or notification.

Job description


- Work with service provider to build out a global monitoring platform across all critical IT infrastructure (Retail, Azure IaaS, and PaaS services, OIC, and other service provider integrations).

- Participate in new project discussions to ensure monitoring and alerting are appropriately addressed and considered for each new service or application introduced into the enterprise

- Develop and maintain list of production applications in the enterprise, SLAs associated with those applications, and alerting/reporting expectations

- Develop Crocs NOC as a service that alerts various teams as incidents arise

- Build training material for application owners to ensure standard practices are being adopted across the organization

- Assist in the creation of operational run books for various departments to successfully respond to application-based alerts

- Build out both core infrastructure monitoring capabilities (CPU, Memory, etc.), as well as application-based monitoring



- A Bachelor's degree is required

- Minimum 5 years of broad IT Infrastructure and application development experience in a global company

- Strong vendor management capabilities

- Experience developing enterprise IT platforms and leading organizational change through new IT applications

- Must have foundational knowledge of current technologies and capabilities of servers, internet, personal computing devices, voice/ data network technology, database administration, application development, code versioning and release pipelines, etc.

- Shown experience in organizational change principles (ITIL)

- Solid grasp of an organization's goals, objectives, and ability to help guide large projects

- Ability to understand business challenges, drive process improvements and translate into solutions

- Solid understanding in Azure based monitoring practices and integrations with other monitoring platforms to provide unified visibility

- Experience with developing a monitoring platform of some type (Logic monitor, SolarWinds, etc.)

- Experience with log aggregation, filtering, and platforms in general

- Experience with application-based monitoring platforms

- Broad experience with overall Microsoft technology portfolio including Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL Server, Power BI, and O365

- Palo Alto Networking, VOIP Telephony and SD-WAN technologies experience nice to have

- Oracle, SQL, EDW, and NoSQL database concepts

- PaaS services in Azure particularly: Azure DevOps, data factories, data bricks, snowflake, and cloud storage

- Strategic problem solver that is able to prioritize and implement multiple initiatives, as a teammate, in a collaborative and fast-paced environment and demonstrate deep technical decision-making skills

- The desire to build proven partnerships with regional business units while at the same time keeping a global view of corporate IT strategy

- Superb communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas in a business-friendly language with a focus on Value proposition

- Highly motivated self-starter who can both lead, and be part of highly productive teams
