TITLE:Data Architect – Data Services (Snowflake)

LOCATION:Columbus, OH-Hybrid


This is a hands-on data architect role with Bath & Body Works. The ideal candidate would have architected, built, and delivered technology solutions in either Data (preferred) or Integration or Application Development space and has hands-on experience in data engineering.

The Data Services team with Bath & Body Works Inc is executing a multiyear platform transformation project to deliver data and reporting solutions on the Snowflake platform.

  • Provide direct oversight coaching, and leadership for a skilled data team who has process oversight, KPI development, and development & run responsibilities
  • Develop an effective, coherent, and phased enterprise data architecture approach to help the business grow and change

    • Map business opportunities to appropriate data architecture patterns.
    • Develop a roadmap for the enterprise data platforms for advanced analytics and data science
    • Develop and maintain processes to acquire, analyze, store, cleanse, and transform large datasets using tools like Talend, Kafka, Spark, etc.
    • Help design innovative, customer-centric solutions based on deep knowledge of large-scale, data-driven technology and the retail industry
    • Help develop and maintain enterprise data standards, best practices, and governance processes
  • Provide recommendations, technical direction, and leadership for the selection and incorporation of new technologies into the Data Ecosystem
  • Contribute to the development, review, and maintenance of requirements documents, technical design documents, and functional specifications
  • Lead large projects and programs
  • Provide reliable Data and Reporting solutions to the business

Here’s what an ordinary day might look like:

  • Participate in project standup to help support defect resolutions and ensure alignment to project architecture to meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Lead architecture meetings on a regular cadence, to review project architecture and provide recommendations
  • Schedule architecture review of ongoing projects
  • Participate in weekly roadmap meetings to provide updates to the leadership team on project architecture, proof of concepts, innovations, and continuous improvement items.
  • 5+ years of experience as a technical lead/architect  with associated development and mentoring responsibilities
  • 5+ years of experience in leading and delivering technology projects.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Proven ability to deliver large projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills - with proven ability to present technical issues to customers in a clear and understandable manner
  • Proven ability and desire to inspire and mentor team members.
  • Strong data management tools experience like Talend, DataStage, Informatica
  • Strong Cloud Data platform implementation experiences in Snowflake (preferred) or Big Query or Amazon stack.
  • Preferred Retail experience
  • Preferred experience in reporting solutions like MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau
