Job description

The Role

This role is responsible for the creative, administrative & general support of the Leather Designer. The focus is to support the Designer in creation and updates of spec packs, fit comments, colour ups, graphic artworks & Illustrator drawings.

This role is responsible for the creative, administrative & general support of the Leather Designer. The focus is to support the Designer in creation and updates of spec packs, fit comments, colour ups, graphic artworks & Illustrator drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend Creative Briefing and Inspiration Workshops
  • Assist Designers with specific research needs
  • Create, update and distribute Spec Packs including measurements, colour ups, and RM information
  • Ensure style specifications are complete, accurate, clear and concise and information is presented in a workable & understandable format.
  • Measure P1 and P2 samples when arrive - in preparation for fit session with Designer
  • Style colour ups for Overviews and presentations
  • Work collaboratively with the Designer on the development of new components and Hardware, creating technical sketches
  • Graphic artworks (beading layouts, pattern) - Illustrator / Photoshop
  • Complete specific research projects, as set by the Designer, including trend, inspiration, and comp shops
  • Facilitate wearer trials & document results, feeding back to Design & Production teams

Profile

The Ideal Candidate has

  • Relevant Tertiary Design Qualification or BA in Design
  • Sound knowledge of key raw materials, specifically leather highly regarded
  • Competent in Illustrator and/or hand sketching skills
  • The ability to develop and manage relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
