Design Director

to join the team!

How Do You Fit In?

As theDesign Director, you will drive the overall trend and design strategy for Fabletics. Leading a team of designers and assistants, you will create products that are end-use and function driven, are on-trend, commercially viable, and aligned with our brand identity and created for our guest. You will join an extremely fast-paced team of passionate and energetic individuals, working towards significant expansion and growth. The ideal candidate combines excellence in creativity, leadership, technical expertise and is efficient, with an entrepreneurial mind and a strategic vision.

This position will report to theVice President of Design.

What You Will Do:

  • In partnership with VP of Design, create and lead the Fabletics design vision.
  • Collaborate with VP of Design to create quarterly concepts, product design roadmaps, and design strategy informed by the performance/active and wellness landscape via trends in activewear, fashion and parallel industries.
  • Adhere to and drive seasonal concept by contributing to color palette and ensuring aesthetic and design storytelling is threaded throughout collection and print selection, creating a cohesive product assortment that is visually enticing to our guest.
  • Be a market expert, identifying key items that will drive volume and perform at retail, ensuring a constant focus on our guest and our brand identity.
  • Obsess and refine our core ecosystem of products focused on end use, merging data analytics with market trends to lead team towards successful creation of compelling, brand-right product.
  • Lead, coach, and clear obstacles for all design team members, providing tools and support to help them reach success.
  • Partner with Product Development team to lead all fabric and trim developments based on quarterly concept, execute on calendar and at price matrix.
  • Be a fit expert to drive exceptional fit consistency in our product and partner with tech team to lead designers in their fit and garment construction development.
  • Build strong and synergistic relationships with cross-functional partners: Merchandising, Tech Design, Product Development, Planning, Marketing, and Production.
  • Think innovatively at all stages of the creative, design and development process. Be curious!
  • Travel on a quarterly basis for inspiration and vendor on-sites.
What You Can Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in women's performance apparel design.
  • 2 years+ director-level experience.
  • Proven track record in identifying trends and developing assortments that deliver results.
  • A people person and team player, you contribute positively to team dynamic, cultivate passion and productivity with a genuine interest in connecting and leading others.
  • You are solutions driven, an efficiency advocate and a strategic thinker.
  • Entrepreneurial, highly motivated self-starter with the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Docs and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
