Expert-level design craft and ability to lead multiple projects at a time. And while you’ll always love design, you’re more drawn to managing design teams. You build solid relationships with your cross-functional partners, demonstrating a deep understanding of strategy and business goals. Who you’ll work with

The Coaching & Sensing Team is responsible for designing world-class wellness guidance and content, and to drive discovery, engagement and retention for Nike's activity experiences – today consisting of NRC and NTC. With a sharp focus on consumer needs, this team thinks holistically of how both UX and content power stronger, better and happier bodies and minds. As a key member of this team, you’ll report into the Design Director of Activity.

What your responsibilities will be
  • Overseeing and managing a small team with multiple streams of work
  • Supervising the design planning, execution, culture, process and results of your team – including multiple projects, complex workstreamsand initiatives
  • Helping set the foundation for IC projects and providing creative direction to your team
  • Working closely and collaboratively with cross-functional partners in Engineering, Research, Product, Program Management and Marketing
  • Growing and developing world-class talent, providing timely coaching and guidance to individual contributors
  • Leading workshops and presentations to share knowledge with your team and advance learning opportunities
  • Building an inclusive, safe culture where team members feel comfortable taking risks and being vulnerable with each other
  • Arranging career development opportunities and identifying high-impact skill gaps
  • Sourcing, attracting and retaining diverse key and senior talent — building a hiring pipeline
  • Assisting in evangelizing brand and Nike design culture internally
  • Playing a key role in building broader Nike Design org initiatives
What you bring to Nike
  • 8+ years of proven experience in the design industry
  • 1+ years of relevant experience leading a digital product design team
  • A bachelor’s degree or any combination of education, training and experience in design, UX/UI design, human-computer interaction or a related field
  • Adept at coaching teams to meet a company's quality standards
  • An understanding of stakeholder management, skilled at managing and adjusting expectations, and sought out for your leadership in this diplomacy
  • Impeccable attention to detail in all aspects of your team’s work
  • Ability to inspire/drive teams to define or transform a product or initiative by building a culture of design excellence that values quality, enables innovation, and creates space to explore
  • Have successfully led and launched large scale cross-platform design projects (web, Android, iOS, emails)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to influence with masterful storytelling
  • Ability to improve the team's focus by clarifying longer-term goals, and prioritizing and delegating proactive vs reactive work
  • Ability to cultivate a culture that supports and encourages diversity and inclusion
  • Passion for the Nike brand, sport and for creating high-quality work
  • A fascination with innovation and technology and an expert understanding of digital tools and trends
