Designer

Warren James is seeking a fashion focused designer who is highly creative, proactive, organized, details-obsessed, and is interested in the cool properties and content creators we work with every day. We are looking for a lead designer to build innovative brand experiences and support the ongoing evolution of the partnerships we cultivate within Warren James.

This candidate must possess solid concepting, design, and branding skills; someone that is eager to take on challenges, introduce fresh ideas, and implement new approaches; grow, test and learn. The fashion design lead will work with a team of outsourced graphic designers to delegate and execute the needs per client. This includes CAD and real life mockups of apparel design, logos, hem label and hang tag design and more. Strong experience with design programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator are required. 3D modeling experience is a plus!

Responsibilities and Duties

● In partnership with the Creative Director, support customized branding and product strategies through graphic design for specific Warren James properties and content creators.

● Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading the strategy and development of fashion product designs, generating original concepts with a fresh visual approach to design and materials
  • Collaborating with Brand Management, Product Development, and Business Development to gauge the needs of their clients to concept, layout and execute design for apparel, accessories and more
  • Working directly with clients to create brand concepts, and lead brainstorm sessions
  • Concepting, designing, sketching (including CAD and real life apparel and accessory mockups) deliver and present trend-right consumer centric product lines
  • Developing and designing product mock-ups, layout creative presentations, and retail pitch decks
  • Monitoring competitors, product innovation and market dynamics
  • Researching initial seasonal trends by category
  • Multitasking and prioritizing multiple design projects within deadline
  • Ensuring that Warren James creative processes, concepts, guidelines, and strategies are successfully implemented across all collateral by overseeing design and development of all pieces
  • Participating and leading collaborative meetings throughout the design process
  • Pushing the boundaries of what “trending” means and test new waters with different product concepts our Clients can review
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years professional design experience, with print and brand development background, preferably in fashion, beauty, collectibles or a similar innovative, high-energy field
  • 1+ years in people management, with proven ability to build, mentor, and motivate teams
  • Proficiency with design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other design technologies
  • Strong delegation skills and ability to act constructive feedback
  • Experience working in the licensing, fashion or toy industry with knowledge of design styles, fabrics, materials, and products is preferred but not required
  • Strategic and thoughtful in their approach to design and branding
  • Strong team player with interpersonal skills is a must
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of current trends and an experienced user of social media
  • Familiarity with Gsuite, Asana, Discord, Canva or similar applications
  • A degree in fine arts or design is a plus
  • Illustrative Experience (not required)
  • Tech-pack design (not required)
