4+ Years experience working in print creative, ideally in beauty/personal care
EDUCATION
BFA in Graphic Design, or equivalent is preferred
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Designer, Brand & Packaging is responsible for assisting the Vice President, Global Creative in the concepting and creation of the brand’s print assets across all touchpoints. This includes, but is not limited to: art directing photoshoots, videoshoots, designing graphics for in-store fixtures, print ads, primary and secondary product packaging, direct-to-consumer and influencer collateral.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create design direction for primary and secondary packaging concepts with a focus on carton production
- Layout mechanical files for any print materials including packaging, visual merchandising, and misc. brand collateral
- Proof print graphics, effectively communicate changes directly to vendor
- Create options based on direction from VP Creative for brand’s print assets including Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production of still and model photography and videos, when applicable
- Create decks detailing design direction for campaigns, including storyboards
- Mark-up photography for re-touching, work directly with photographers, stylists, and retouchers
- Create gratis and collateral items for influencers, editors, etc.
- Manage and provide direction and feedback to graphic designers and production artists, when necessary
- Present artwork to cross-functional and executive team members
SKILLS
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Additonal programs such as After Effects, and 3D Rendering programs preferred
- Strong understanding of color theory, spatial relationships, information hierarchies, and composition
- Keen eye for typography
- Ability to work on multiple, fast-paced projects with short timelines
- Up-to-date on trends in fashion, beauty, and pop culture
- Confident and effective presentation skills
- Understands packaging in a mass or masstige market
- Enthusiactic designer, open to new opportunities
