Job Title: Digital Merchandising Assistant

Purpose of the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Digital Merchandising Assistant to join our Digital team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to join a growing, dynamic and innovative Digital team. You will play a key role in maximising the customer experience on our Primark.com website.

We are looking for a Digital Merchandising Assistant who will be responsible for the visual merchandising for our Primark.com website at a product and category level, ensuring we are representing our VM strategy and maintaining website experience to align with our marketing calendar. You will be performing daily analytics across all categories (such as fashion & lifestyle) ensuring that our product catalogue showcases the best product mix in the right place, at the right time.

You will have a strong understanding of fashion and lifestyle retail, as well as the ability to actively analyse data to develop category merchandising. You will work closely with the Buying, Marketing and wider Digital teams to ensure that Primark.com priority styles, collections, trends, promotions and campaigns go live in line with the marketing strategy. For this reason, you take a highly collaborative approach, focusing on strong relationship management and the achievement of shared goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be joining a fast-paced environment, with the opportunity to work with key stakeholders within the Primark business. The Digital Merchandising Assistant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Optimise key customer journeys including, product discovery and conversion, by implementing the best product experience across landing pages; search and navigation; product taxonomy / categorisation; PLPs; product display; product cross-and up-sell; product content & information
  • Work closely with buying, marketing and studio teams to ensure that priority styles, collections, trends, promotions and campaigns go live in line with strategy.
  • Work closely with the digital analytics team to define tracking and reporting needs
  • Ensure the digital platform is continuously optimized for the Primark look and feel, with clear and relevant content, aligning with the overall brand strategy
  • Assist the Optimisation team in understanding our customers search behaviour and make amendments to our search dictionary to increase conversion on sessions with search
  • Custom build product lists to ensure the customer journey is seamless for both customer experience and commercial objectives. In doing so, analyse and ensure that each product category is optimised so that the customer can use filtering components to narrow down their search.
  • Continue to develop technological expertise in Search & Merch Tools, Platforms and Content Management Systems to maximize efficiency within the role
  • Manage all aspects of onsite curation in line with key product stories and trends
  • Work closely with all areas of our Digital team including Digital Marketing, Digital Analytics, SEO and Customer Service teams to improve efficiencies, customer experience and Digital performance
  • Ensure that you are up to date and understand current fashion trends, customer behaviour and competitor landscape, so as to anticipate and meet customer needs

Profile

Skills & Experience:

  • 1-3 years work experience as a Digital Visual Merchandiser
  • Experience using Search & Merch Tools, Platforms and Content Management Systems to deliver an engaging and commercial customer experience that aligns with overall Company strategy.
  • Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to ensure products, brand image and messaging is consistent across multiple touchpoints
  • Ability to thrive in fast paced environment; able to prioritise workload and find solutions to problems which may arise
  • Self-motivated, problem solver and results oriented
  • Excellent communication skills [written and oral] with strong presentation skills
  • IT proficient, including advanced Excel skills & proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • A great communicator along with excellent interpersonal and people skills. Someone who can contribute effectively as part of a team and can facilitate smooth interactions between themselves and senior stakeholders
  • Ability to build credible relationships with a range of internal stakeholders
  • Strong interest in the fashion industry and a passion for the Primark brand
