Digital Merchandising Operations Manager - Remote
The Manager, Digital Merchandising Operations will play a key management and operational role in the Claire’s digital PIM platform, ensuring all our product content is best- in-class and product conversion is optimized, while managing and driving a product content team in their daily and wider roles. This role is accountable for timely setup and accuracy of all product content globally, managing product-to-site processes, and measuring efficacy of team. The Manager, Digital Merchandising Operations must ensure the copy and coordination team delivers on their areas of responsibility in a timely manner, working to tight deadlines and delivering outstanding work to represent Claire’s products online.
Responsibilities- Accountable for accurate, timely publishing of all global product content, including product copy, product reviews, categories, attribution, and site navigation on both Claire’s and Icing websites.
- Manage the collection, collation, and enrichment of all product data for 8000+ products globally.
- Develop processes and procedures to insure that all new products are identified and ready for launch on website(s) in advance of inventory arrival.
- Determine product content standards, attribution, and optimal content paradigm to ensure maximum conversion via search and browse.
- Coordinate with Digital Marketing and Trade to ensure content and categorization is in line with the requirements of Marketplace channels (Amazon, eBay, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Photography & Stock Management team in Ecommerce to ensure categories are fully represented with stock and visibility onsite.
- Troubleshoot issues related to products publishing and visible on site. Serve as SME on all product to site issues.
- Manage a team of product content specialists; monitor and improve their quality and quantity of work output.
- Create an environment of fact-based decision making, using analytics to determine best practices.
- Manage and maximize collection and use of product reviews to improve conversion and product development.
- In coordination with site merchandising, drive and coordinate site experience as it relates to products, such as product sets and bundles, categorization, and product attribution for left navigation filters.
- Ensure the prices / descriptions displayed on web are correct and QA on all products is performed thoroughly and consistently.
- Responsible for accurate data structure and hierarchies to ensure a smooth launch with new PIM tool in supporting the site and marketplaces.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Merchandising or related
- 3-5 years’ experience in ecommerce operations, merchandising, PIM management, with working knowledge of product enrichment processes and best practices for SEO
- Experience with PIM. Salsify and content management systems a plus
- Excellent management and leadership skills
- Possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to multi task and prioritise workloads in a busy commerce environment.
- Ecommerce background with demonstrated acumen for optimal product set-up practices and understanding of the optimal customer experience.
- Exceptional skills in Excel required (Pivot &VLOOKUP), to manipulate large data sets.
- Experience and knowledge of SEO to ensure product copy meets current SEO requirements
- Detail oriented; accuracy of data is key responsibility in this role
- Excellent command of grammar, spelling and sensitivity to brand voice and audience to oversee and direct product copy that reflects well on the brand.
- Demonstrated aptitude for technology, including an understanding of product data flows and e-commerce software
- Enjoy thinking outside of the box when faced with challenging situations
- Have a keen interest in fashion and background with retail and fashion websites
