As the Kids Apparel & Accessories Director, North America Consumer Merchandising, you will be responsible for being the voice of the product, leading with Nike Direct, for the Integrated Marketplace while delivering on Geography Consumer Strategy and financials!

What you will work on

We are looking for someone to lead a team to build consumer centric assortment plans with an understanding of the MPU’s position in the market, blending fact based and intuitive inputs. You will participate in seasonal reviews & assortment building in partnership with cross MPU merchants.

You will balance multiple seasons. Your insights will contribute to future season plans and adoption by supporting Gender Merchandising Leadership upstream, managing your areas of assortment planning in depth during the seasonal process, and gather insights from and in-market seasons.

Your key accountabilities include:
  • Lead, inspire and empower the Kids Apparel & Accessories Merchandising team
  • Provide Geo POV on Product Line, Strategic Intent, & Marketplace Insights
  • Determine Geo Adoption, Pricing, Consumer-Led Offer and GEL Line Plan and influence product allocations
  • Drive product lifecycle to move at the pace of the consumer/member, balancing newness and consistency across the consumer
  • Drive franchise health across the portfolio, aligned to product strategic intent
  • Influence the Geo Brand Architecture
  • Embed Consumer within Nike Direct business to ensure the Consumer Strategy is the Nike Direct Strategy and that the strategy comes to life aligned against a singular vision
  • Member of Consumer triad (Merch/DSM/Brand)
Who you will work with

You will be working very closely with your Geo X-functional teams: Planning, Brand, Nike Direct and MPU merchants, and Men’s and Women’s Consumer Merchants. You will also be engaged very closely with your Global Merchandising counterparts across Kids Apparel & Accessories to ensure the above deliverables can be brought to life in the most effective and aligned manner for our consumer. Additionally, you will work with finance, operations, and Insights/analytics teams; relying on business reporting for your area which includes quantitative and qualitative metrics on sales, inventory, and consumer behaviors.

What you bring
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • At least 10 years’ experience in merchandising and/or product creation
  • Footwear, apparel and/or equipment merchandising experience
  • Consumer Industry and Insights Competence
  • Ability to translate Insights into Actionable Strategies and Plans
  • Experience developing and implementing Product Strategy
  • Experience in multi-season Assortment Planning and Pricing
  • Retail Financial Skill
  • Obtain a keen understanding of the Nike consumer and marketplace
  • Ability to display Product Expertise
  • Willing to travel 10-20% of the time
